I am so excited to tell you about my newest love! I was lucky enough to have been noticed by Michelle at Haughty Cosmetics. She sent me some of her lip glosses to try out and share with my readers. I don’t think I’ve ever been this excited about posting a review before. This lip gloss is SO GOOD! I mean I’m a little freaked out by how impressed I am. How am I supposed to run a blog if I can barely imagine wearing a different brand of gloss again! Before I move on to the product review I want to share with you a little about the company. Michelle wanted to start her own business and was torn between wanting to start a company based on her love of cosmetics or to focus on her passion for wanting to help prevent violence against women. The genius she is, found a way to incorporate both of her dreams into reality with Haughty Cosmetics.
“I’m committed to donating 50% of net profits from the sale ofHaughtyproducts to domestic violence prevention education. It’s important to me that the work I do every day helps prevent young people from getting trapped in unhealthy, abusive, and violent situations. Nothing fulfills me more than hearing from survivors who tell me that they got out of a bad situation and now want to help others.”
I really can’t wrap my head around what is making these so outstanding but guess what. I don’t care! This is the longest wearing lip gloss I have EVER used. Through drinks, meals, you name it. Not only is there a light stain left to my lips but they are still glossy! The formula is moisturizing and has a lovely mild scent that I can’t put my finger on. I also love that the shades are very pigmented and apply very evenly. They are absolutely not sticky. Not greasy either. They are as close to perfect as I can ever imagine a gloss being. These also seem to have a bit of a plumping effect. I especially noticed it with Polish It Off. When my sister tried it on she was saying “It’s Plumping! It’s Plumping!”. I couldn’t help laughing at her. She was the first to try on that shade and I didn’t realize it felt a bit different than the other two. Now these glosses aren’t touted as being “plumping” but let’s just say there is something in there that can result in the desired effect. 😉
I know a lot of you out there have phobias of ordering things online without seeing in person first but I really recommend you giving Haughty Cosmetics a chance. I would not put my name on the line recommending something so vehemently if I didn’t truly believe it to be outstanding. My only complaint would be that I’m not a huge fan of the packaging. It feels like very lightweight plastic, which is great for carrying all of them in my purse which I’ve been doing everyday since I got them, but the silver paint is already beginning to wear off in places. I do love the applicator. It is not the typical doe foot but a more elongated and narrow type almost reminiscent of the Chanel Rouge Allure Extrait de Gloss. These glosses are all made by hand.
Now on to the pretties! (As always you can click on the pictures to enlarge.)
Take a Risk is described as bright watermelon pink. This has to be one of the most perfect face brightening shades for me that I’ve come across.
Get ‘Em is described as bright dark coral. In the tube it looks like copper infused with gold micro shimmer. Once applied to the lips it becomes more coral. I love this colour! I can’t quite decide which is my favourite. Get ‘Em or Take a Risk.
Polish It Off is described as a beige pink neutral. It is beige infused with a subtle pink iridescence and has a frostier finish than the previous two shades.
