Last night I washed and set up to dry all 14 of my regular use makeup brushes in 13 MINUTES. Yup! I don’t know about you, but to me that seemed pretty darn impressive! My new secret weapon was the BECCA Professional Makeup Brush Soap.
I must thank Modesty Brown for introducing this brush cleaner to me when she raved about it and included it in one of her giveaways. I decided to include it with my most recent Zuneta order and I’m so pleased I did.
From the Becca Cosmetics website:
- Effective cleansing ingredients remove all traces of make-up, leaving brushes fresh and looking like new
- Unique formula ensures gentle yet thorough cleansing of both natural and synthetic brushes
- Plant oils nourish brush hairs for a soft application
- Vintage soap-tin packaging to stylishly house soap
The brush soap lathers up fabulously and best of all rinses completely clean with little effort. I love that I didn’t have the feeling of never having the brushes rinsed fully as I’ve experienced sometimes with other methods. I also loved that I could just swirl each brush on the soap and not have to keep picking up the bottle of baby shampoo (or whatever other brush cleaner I was using at the time) and keep putting more into the palm of my hand for each brush. I found that saved A LOT of time. For some of my dirtier brushes I would swirl the brush in the soap and then swirl in the palm of my hand quickly and rinse, then pick up a bit more soap, swirl again in my hand working up a lather to cleanse and do the final rinse. For brushes that weren’t as dirty just one pass of the soap sufficed.
My brushes ended up in pristine clean condition. Any stains on my MAC duo fibre brushes for instance were gone and all my brushes felt lovely and soft afterwards.
At a price of $15 US dollars I found this a very reasonably priced option to make cleansing my brushes a much more pleasant experience. At less than a minute a brush I expect to be keeping up with the dreaded chore a little better now!
I purchased this from Zuneta who ships internationally.
